Video Conference with Skype

Requirements:

1. Windows or Mac Operation System

2. Webcam

3. Headset or Microphone

4. Speakers

5. Skype:

a. Download Skype for Windows at http://www.skype.com/download/skype/windows/

b. Download Skype for Mac at

http://www.skype.com/download/skype/macosx/

Installation Guide:

1. Go to address for downloading Skype for Windows or MAC at the address above.

2. Click Download Now.

3. After the File has finished downloading click Run.

4. After the application starts a installation window will appear.

a. Select your Language

b. Next, check the box accepting the license agreement.

5. Click Install.

6. At the second installation window, uncheck the Install the free Google Toolbar checkbox.

7. Click Next.

8. Installation will begin.

9. After Installation, the next window will appear

a. Click Start Skype.

Account Setup:

1. After Skype as started, you will be asked to create a new account. If you have a existing account Click Cancel.

a. If you don’t have accounts fill in the required information.

b. Check the check accepting to the license agreement.

c. Click Next.

2. Next, fill in the Email box with your current email address and the other required fields.

3. Click Sign In.

Adding UAH Library as Contact:

1. To Add UAH Library as a contact

a. Click the Add Contact button or

b. Go to Tools > Add Contact

2. In the Add a Skype contact field, type in UAH_Library

3. Click Find.

4. In the Results Box, you should see UAH Library as Full Name.

5. Click on the UAH Library Contact and Click Add Skype Contact.

6. In the Message field, Include your name, interview date, and time.

7. Click Ok.

Webcam and Headset/Microphone Setup:

1. From the main Skype windows,

a. Go to Tools > Options.

2. In the Options Window

a. Click the Audio Settings Tab on the left side.

3. In the Microphone, Speakers, and Ringing Section choose the proper hardware from the drop down menu.

4. Next, Click the Video Settings Tab on the left side.

a. Check the Enable Skype Video checkbox.

b. Check the Start my video automatically when I am in a call checkbox.

c. Under the Select Webcam, select your proper video device (ex. Your webcam)

5. Click Save.

Connecting and Calling the UAH Library:

1. In the main Skype window, next to the UAH Library screen name. Click the green round button with a picture of a white telephone to make a call to the UAH Library.
