Use of the room is currently limited to materials on reserve at the Circulation Desk. For more information about the room, contact the Reference department at 824-6529.

Library Study Carrels
The Salmon Library provides four study carrels for group study or individual quiet study. Study carrels must be reserved in person at the Circulation desk and are available on a first come, first serve basis. They may not be reserved in advance.

Alabama Textbook Adoption Program
The Salmon Library is one of the sites for the State of Alabama's Textbook adoption period of public and professional review. Educators and the general public are encouraged to view textbooks for consideration. It is from this evaluation that the committees and the State Board of Education select titles to be included on the State Textbook Adoption list. The main criteria for selection is how well the textbook matches the needs of the Alabama Course of Study for that subject. The Library has Alabama Course of Study books available. Topics are rotated every year, in a six year cycle. To see upcoming subjects, visit the Alabama page of the NASTA (National Association of State Textbook Administrators) website.

For more information about the program, visit the reference desk at the Salmon Library or call 256-824-6529.

McNaughton Books
McNaughton books are a changing collection of current best-sellers and are located on the second floor, south wing of the Salmon Library. These books are frequently updated and can be checked out at the Circulation Desk. The library also maintains a list of current McNaughton books.

Visit the Brodart website for more information about the McNaughton Book Service.
